Build confidence and self-esteem and address low motivation with Horizons Clinical Hypnotherapy, Sunshine Coast. Do you feel that something is holding you back from living your best? Do you shy away from opportunities and success? Do you worry too much what others think of you? Confidence is an attitude of mind, based on your inner beliefs about yourself, and you can build confidence with hypnotherapy and NLP.
“Confidence is a person’s belief that a chosen course of action is the right choice and that they can properly perform that action. As a personality trait, confidence is sometimes referred to as self-confidence. This term describes the attitudes and beliefs people hold regarding their abilities and strengths” (Good Therapy website). So can you build confidence? Yes, you can.
Feeling self conscious or anxious is not ‘naturally’ how you are. What has happened is that at some point you have learned to feel this way, even if it was so long ago that you cannot remember why or how. Perhaps you adopted a belief that you are not worthy, or than you are unlovable? Or it may have been more recent, if you took one of life’s knocks and you decided to stay down, so to speak, because it’s safer. Through our experiences, especially in youth, many of us develop a lack of self-confidence tied in with the notion that we can only feel self-confident by earning it. But how can you grow confidence if you become too afraid of failing to give it a proper shot? More importantly, confidence is innate and does not need to be earned. It is a natural trait that each of us can own. It rests in what we are, not what we do. But if your unconscious mind has adopted a belief that you don’t deserve it, then no matter how outstanding your successes, your confidence cannot shine.
There are differences between self-confidence to self-esteem, even though they share some similarities. It doesn’t really matter because when we get working on it, it is the emotion that we deal with, no matter what we call it at the time. Labels are just words. But for clarity… self-esteem is internal and relates to how you feel about yourself. Self-confidence relates to how you interact with the outside world. So, you might value yourself, but not your abilities. Or, more commonly, you might not value yourself, even if you know you perform well. The good news is, what your unconscious mind has learned, can also be unlearned, and your unconscious mind can also be updated. That’s where I step in. If it is psychologically caused, hypnotherapy and NLP can help.
